Solar park combined with batteries
An independent large consumer maximizes the consumption of self-produced renewable energy in order to be more independent from energy market prices. The solution is a solar park combined with batteries of suitable capacity.
It is also possible to build this solution without having network-directed transmission capacity.
A suitable solar park capacity is three times the average daily hourly consumption. For example, if the average consumption of one hour per day is 33kWh, then the suitable size of the solar park would be 100kW.
During the summer, the surplus of solar energy production is stored in batteries and consumed in the evening and at night, when the sun no longer covers the total consumption. During the winter, energy is stored in the batteries during the cheapest hours and consumed during the most expensive hours. It also helps to reduce winter electricity bills by up to 30%.
The availability of the production capacity of the connection point allows participation in the frequency reserve market during the winter, which further increases the profitability of the batteries. NB! If there is no grid-directed generation capacity, then the inverters of the solar park must be configured in such a way that excludes grid-directed generation.
